Chapter 4: On the Road Back Home
Chapter 4 starts as a breakdown and ends as a story turn. Forever Ago Guide associates Trip’s Cancelled with this chapter’s ending. The route below covers progression without quoting the pivotal dialogue.
Breakdown route reported by player guides
- The van is leaking oil. Inspect it from the rear, under the hood, and from the right side of the cabin.
- Pick up the journal from beside the dog.
- Walk north to the phone booth and play the scene.
- In the dream, keep moving forward, interact with the phone, and continue straight to the end.
If the next scene does not start
Review the three van inspections and journal pickup before heading down the road. Inside the dream, look for the telephone interaction rather than hunting for an unlisted repair tool. This is a progression checklist, not a diagnosis of every possible bug.
Questions
Can I miss Trip’s Cancelled?
Forever Ago Guide describes it as the chapter-ending unlock. Steam does not expose its hidden condition, so this page does not guarantee the unlock or certify it as unmissable on every platform.
